My Labor Day Weekend Adventures part 2

Okay, now for part 2 of my fabulous Labor Day weekend in South Jersey. After spending the day in Fort Mott, I looked on my phone to access Google Maps (highly recommend it) to find a nice place to have lunch, so I came across this new winery called Auburn Road Vinyard & Winery, located at 117 Sharptown-Auburn Rd, Pilesgrove, NJ. On the way there, I stopped by The Supawna Medows National Wildlife Refuge just a few miles from Fort Mott State Park at 197 Lighthouse Rd, Pennsville, NJ.

The place was closed, but I'll tour the entire park when I get the chance (say next year).

After that pitstop, I had lunch at Auburn Vineyards & Winery in Pilesgrove, NJ. I was lucky to get in because they take reservations (it's recommended that you do).  This is a European-style Vinyard Wine Bar, and Courtyard is surrounded by vines, and they combine cool vibes & excellent wine. There's live music, a woodfire pizza menu, gelatos, wine samplers, and delicious snack platters at an affordable price. You can also book private events like birthdays and even weddings.

My next stop takes me to Woodstown, NJ, at a Brewery with an actual bank vault with safety deposit boxes (you heard right) and an Actual bank vault! This Brewery is Farmers & Bankers Brewery at 8th North Main Street, Woodstown, NJ.

The selection of IPAs and Stouts is excellent, and if you can decide on what beers you want, you can get a flight of 4 beers at a reasonable price. There are Alcoholic frozen drinks and non-alcoholic craft drinks like root beer. You can also even buy cans to take home too. As for food, they have several eateries within walking distance and different food trucks parked outside their beer garden. https://farmersandbankersbrewing.com/

My last stop on a Saturday night was in Haddonfield, NJ, at a distillery called Wildfether Distillery. The two-story Victorian house specializes in cocktails and spirits and is a BYOF (Bring Your Own Food). This is a beautiful place to have delicious cocktails like The Tropic of Cancer made with pineapple, vodka, cane sugar, pandan, & lime. They have bottles of Gin, Rye Whiskey, Bourbon, and Vodka for purchase. While you can order food at any restaurant within walking distance. I went to Oriental Pearl Chinese Restaurant across the street and ordered beef Lo mein, which was terrific.

The Distillery is located at 236 Kings Hwy E, Haddonfield, NJ. You can go on their Facebook and Instagram pages. There still needs to be a website for the company.

It was a great Saturday for my Labor Day, and now for Sunday's Labor Day Adventure, which takes me down the shore to Margate. NJ to see a famous Iconic structure that has been a historic landmark for more than 142 years; I'm talking about Lucy the Elephant. She is one of three structures designed by James V. Lafferty and is the only structure still standing (Yeah, Yeah, Yeah). The other two elephant structures, The Light of Asia and Elephantine Colossus, were destroyed under unusual circumstances, but Lucy remains. In 1969, Edwin T. Carpenter and the citizens of Margate formed The Margate Civic Association to save Lucy from decaying and being demolished.  You can read more about her on the website. https://lucytheelephant.org/

My next stop is at a Brewery in Somers Point called what else is called " Somers Point Brewery Co." located at 705 W New York Ave, Somers Point, NJ. https://somerspointbrewing.com/

They are an independent craft brewery specializing in small-batch beers with quality and flavor. They also have a 7-barrel brewing system capable of producing approximately 217 gallons of beer per batch. That's a lot of beer! There are restaurants where you can deliver your food and outdoor seating where you can bring your dogs. Their Beer and complex seltzer selections are pretty good, and if you cannot decide, you can order a flight of different brews for a reasonable price and buy 6-pack cans, 32oz Crowler,  & 64oz Growlers.

Finally, the last two stops take me to my "Happy Place," which I love to visit during summer. Barnegat Twp is a quaint little town with antique shops, a cafe, an art gallery, walking trails, and small historical landmarks. You can go to the Municipal docks to watch the boats sail by and go crabbing and fishing, and during the summer, they have live concerts and events for free. There is a cute ice cream and restaurant called "Sweet Jenny's (formerly " Hurricane House") that serves the best ice cream in Barnegat Twp., and when you walk in, the shop has the old ice cream parlor look, but the food is amazing. http://www.sweetjennysrestaurant.com

mint chocolate chip with Resse's Pieces

My final stop is this restaurant called " Sun Harbor Seafood and Grill," located at 451 E Bay Ave, Barnegat, Twp., NJ.  https://www.sunharborseafoodandgrill.com/, where they have great food, live music events, a tiki bar, and pet-friendly. I have had this lovely drink called "Blossom Bellini" made from Ketel One Peach & Orange Blossom, Peach Puree, and Prosecco.

That Summer is officially over doesn't mean the fun is over! Live life to the fullest, peeps, and have fun!  Till next time. 🍴🍺🍹🚗 Safe Travels. Jerzy
