On Saturday afternoon, my friend Lynn texted me to inquire about my activities on a rainy day before she departed for Seattle, Washington, for a week. With nothing else to do, she informed me about a popular new restaurant at the Promenade Plaza in Marlton called LaScala's Fire, located at 500 Route 73 South, Marlton, NJ. lascalasfire.com. LaScala's Fire is a South Jersey, Philadelphia favorite restaurant for woodfire pizza and Decadent Italian cuisine, ideal for sharing appetizers, in a sophisticated atmosphere with an amazing ambiance. The service from the waiting staff is exceptional and extremely efficient; they do not disappoint. The Appetizers they serve are delicious like Meatball Trio with sweet and salty ricotta cheese, and the sauce is Chef's Kiss! Another dish worth trying is the Crispy Parmigiano Artichokes with Sun-dried tomatoes, Parmigiano, and Honey-Lemon Vinaigrette. And of course, The Burrata Board with Burrata cheese, Prosciutto, slices of tomatoes with pesto and balsamic glaze, and wood-fired Piadina bread. Now for their alcoholic cocktails, which were by the way excellent. Lynn had the RIP's Old Fashioned made with Yellowstone Bourbon, Muddled Orange, Cherries, Bitters, and Simple Syrup. I had a Chocolate Manhattan made with Angel's Envy Bourbon, Antica Sweet Vermouth, Orange Bitters, Dark Cacao, and Dark Cherry. When you first enter LaScala's, it resembles a classy upscale restaurant rather than a dive bar, with beautiful marble walls and brick accents. There are 12 big-screen TVs at the main bar, 3 more TVs at another bar near the outdoor patio area, and one last TV in the spacious dining area where you can host private parties for friends and family.
